I will look for pictures during the process but I am almost done, here is a before and after pic.
It has been a challenging one starting the build with a bad bike. The following was done:
- XT500 front forks with original yokes - originals too bad to save
- XT500 alloy rims laced onto the original hub
- Aftermarket rear shocks - still need to source suitable shocks.
- Motor blasted and painted
- Stator rewired with new points and condenser
- New reed valve
- Carb cleaned and tuned - may need to get a kit at some stage
- New handlebars - grips - levers
- Fork seals and oil change
- New tough tubes, wheel bearings and Bridgestone rubber
- Seat recovered
- New exhaust header made
- Tank lined and painted
- Fibreglass rear mudgaurd
- New chain and sprockets
Parts have been super hard to find and havent wanted to just order from the states.
