Riding home my favourite route on Monday after work, Durbanville back roads which has three nice long fast bends - just opened up through the dip and doing about 120 km/h into the right hand sweep when the guinea fowl takes off and does not seem to make head way into the howling wind - looks like slo mo as it just hovers in front of me and is in pause mode - tapped off but still carried a lot of speed, ducked and whacked it 
Was surprised at how the screen shattered - visor on helmet closed thankfully !!! That acrylic is like glass !!!!!! Felt my neck, looked at hand and no blood : slowed down, took a breath and cruised onwards home - screen non existent, holding bracket broken and speedo cluster mountings broken off - orange lens cover AWOL Could have been worse !!!!
