It's not the first time that I change my rear brake pads, but it's the first time that I notice that the service manual shows a metal separator attached onto the brake pad on the brake piston side. I don't think that I ever had one on my bike since I bought it.
RealOEM shows no sign of the seperator on the Dakar. Should I have one?
What is its purpose? Perhaps to keep the piston from digging into the brake pad?
Attached is the diagram in the service manual and the one on RealOEM.
Thanks
