Was treated for my first tandem flight today at Grotto beach, Hermanus, what a thrill, this can become a new expensive hobby     Thanks Keith  :thumleft:

Good man!  ;D

I been up in a micro light...pretty scary at first but then you think if it was any aircraft you would be dead on impact anyway. That brought me some strange relief
We landed on Blouberg beach then the blue bottles rocked up so we just chooned tally ho & took off ..

:sip: I've done over 400 hrs in my microlight before I sold it. Expensive hobby?, you can say that again. But, the paragliding will not be that bad. No hanger and club fees and a lot of other shit.

Saw some guys doing this im mozambique a couple of weeks ago....thought to myself....mmm...that looks nice, maybe I must try it......

What are we looking at cost wise to get started? do you need any qualification or training? Anyone already doing it?

Would also like to know what cost, training and effort is required to get into this sport.

Another factor would be location. I don't suppose one can take off anywhere near a city with an airport etc.

Anybody around that knows about the detail?

Normally you would have to do a paragliding course first but I see lately they do the paramotor course from scratch.

I did some homework a few years ago and it was cheaper than biking.
I did not have money then, but was offered a single seater in good nic for R15 000 and the guy was prepared to teach me.
I think it is a lot like the biking community, you want to and the guys will bend over backwards to get you started.
Maybe you guys in Cpt must pool together and buy a rig!
That way it will work out cheaper.
