RIP Alexander Nel aka Camelman

Amageza Team to Dakar    After convincing Alexander not to drop Rally completely.....

For the next 2 years Amageza Racing is moving towards a new goal. Alexander wants to do a couple of international rally’s himself ending as competitor at Dakar 2020. We want to prepare a few loyal competitors for this journey to Dakar 2020. This will include exposure to international rallye's and local training getting to the Dream Team.

So the annual Amageza rally will continue again after this goal has been achieved....

Hey guys

As Sean said. For now I will not be organizing any formal events. Regardless, my objective is still the same. Find and help riders get to Dakar, not financially but with training and races. And once there, finish. Still trying to create the perfect platform to get guys on the podium.

I need to go race a couple of rallies myself. Maybe in 2020 do the Dakar. I would love to take a couple of guys with as a Team Amageza. Of course Sean Kriel and John Lanham will be required to go with! John having been part of Amageza since its inception and Sean from the second event!

This is not something you can apply for. I will contact some of the past Amageza riders and invite them personally. Off-course we will be doing it Malle-Moto. Even if not entered as Malle Moto. We will raise the SA flag in every bivouac at Dakar. Sean will start a braai. We will hammer our bikes into shape, and John will make sure we keep our spirits up! We will camp around our braai fire! Our SA farmers in Arg will ensure we have great meat, and this in turn will make sure Red Bull camp with us! We will rock Dakar, SA style!

The road to Dakar will include a couple of international Rallyes. The cheapest and most hard-core I can find. Each one of these will be preceded with a local multi-stage training ride on old Amageza Road-books. Two stages in one. Like we did with Badlands.

With a team entry of 10 or more. We will be the biggest team at Dakar. And with so many riders entering we will get good marketing exposure. In the next couple of months we will fine-tune this plan, and get ready to race early next year. Amageza Racing will organize the shipping (Sean will..lol) and the entries for all of us, including airfare and accommodation. So a package deal. All you need to do, is prepare with us, get on the plane, race with us as Team Amageza (The crazy team) and return. Each rider will have to pay his way, but with a good marketing plan we could off-set some of the costs with sponsorship.

Lets do this!! No fear. Dream big!!

Oh yeah. And after the 2020 Dakar. We might restart the Amageza Rallye. Bigger and better!!

Until then, you can find me over a some farm somewhere crop-spraying. Need to pay Amageza debt! Only wrote one plane off so-far.
