Fellow Wilddogs, I've been negotiating with a few dealers on new leftover enduro dirt bikes.  I am very indecisive by nature, I go back n forth in my mind thousands of times before I pull the trigger and make a choice, when it comes to bikes :ricky:

The best and easiest way to be lawful in my state and others is to have a bike with a license plate.  My riding will be a mixture of very tight single track and two tracks, with occasional gravel roads and maybe a little tarmac to get to another trail.  With that said, here are a list of bikes I'm considering and have received prices for:

$8,200.00  OTD      2017 KTM 250 XC-W 2 stroke:

Costs to make street legal in my state:  approximately $385 with a Sicass racing lighting kit, fold down mirror, and D.O.T. tires.

$165.00          https://sicassracing.com/store/products/lighting_kits/ktm/2014-18_ktm_2_stroke_xcw_lighting_kit
$  19.95          https://sicassracing.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=272
$200.00           D.O.T approved tires.  I may be able to get by without replacing the stock off-road tires, so I've been told.  Apparently, nobody checks or cares enough to see if the tire is D.O.T.

$8,385.00-$8,585.00 total for a street legal 250

$9,400.00 OTD      2017 KTM 300 XC-W Six Days

$9,585.00-$9,785  total for a street legal 300 6 days

$6,400.00 OTD              2017 GAS GAS EC250

$    19.95                      Fold down mirror

$6,419.95        total for a street legal GAS GAS 250 2 stroke

The orange and black 250 pulls at my heartstrings because I owned an 08' KTM 250 XCW and loved the bike.  I prefer the 250's slightly over the 300 powerband.  The 6 days adds length and girth to my mid section when I looks at it, but it's awfully expensive. The KTM's sometimes boil over emitting steam on tight single track riding.  The KTM's retain value better than the GAS GAS.

The GAS GAS makes me drool when I look at it. It's also $2,000-$3,000 dollars cheaper, that's several weekend trips to enjoy the bike.  The engine is an old design, but it works.  Very reliable and can go quite awhile between piston/ring changes.  The only issue, not many dealers for parts, but can be ordered.
