Once again, our planned weekend ride to the waterberge got unstuck and we settled for a ride on sunday to groot marico. Blouvark and THEdude joined in and we left shortly after 8 from pinehaven sasol.
Onto the n14 for a few k?s whereafter we got onto the dirt. From here we did in total only a further 40k?s of dirt into groot marico.

First stop:

And going on.

Most of the gravel roads around here at this time of year provide for some high speed riding, with occassional light sandy patches, nothing dramatic. After a pleasant twisty ride in some valley shade, it was time to hit a few k?s of tar.

Thedude?s bike, looking very naked without protection. I hear he doesn?t believe in protection as he is accomplished?

And another smokebreak with cuteness doing the hokeypokey:

The previous group that did the ride through the valley into marico was quite impressed with the scenery provided. Well, they did not fib:

Hitting marico and having a drive around town ? it took about a minute.

We planned another road back, but unfortunately it turned out that we had to go through the tollgate (R48!!!) to get access to the gravel road. So we went back the way we came:

Once out of the valley, cuteness took us on some different gravel roads until we excited close to boons. Here it was decided that it was getting a bit late and the tar was the option to go. So many gravel roads out there, it was a shame. Next time!
