Noob to adventure riding
« on: November 14, 2017, 03:11:59 pm »
Hi All,

New to adventure riding. Got a KLR 650  (2009) a few weeks ago.  Based in Stellenbosch, and went for a short ride with a few guys from the KLR clan the other day.

Looking forward to getting into riding more off-road/non-tar roads. For now I'd just like to build some experience on non-tar roads and get a few km's under the belt. This looks like a great place to get some advice and info on adventure riding.

Cheers.

Many might agree that the VERY best thing you could do early on is training, with say Country Trax or one of the other training companies, learn the correct technique early on, and learn AND have fun learning!

oh, and Welcome, lots to :sip: read here, lots to   about, some  ???  answered, a fair bit of ;)  goes on, some guys  :drif:  over the bikes (or else the babes), and there is even some  :pot:  that goes on, and a significant amount of :amazon:

Welcome and safe riding!

As to the offroad course - I flunked out, and still riding today :ricky: Many people have different ideas about what "correct technique" is, anyway ::) (and yes, I'm sure mine is atrocious). But you can't go wrong with a KLR - enjoy, and see you on the gravel  :lol8:
