So we usually get hard plastic or soft plastic handguards with our Adventure / Enduro bikes.
Then we take it off and put some metal handguards on to protect the levers etc.

On a few occasions now I've heard that it's can be  quite dangerous that if you fall or endo / go over bars even in a slow tumble that your hands can get caught in there and you can break arms wrists etc. I never really thought of that and there are some truth to it Googling/Youtubing this.

Looking at my 690 and 1200gs the plastic guards do seem capable of protecting the levers in a few fals but eventually it would break.
But just trying to test it, esp on the GS it does seem that with momentum it will flex and bend enough to release your hand in a situation like that.

What does the Dogs think?
