Thanks Droffie,
That was really nice to see the pics - I really enjoyed your report on your wiki site.
The resolution in the photos is quite low, are you able to send the original high resolution ones?
It brings back some great memories of that day, the sharks, the flowers, the scenery. That house with the bricks - myself and Hilde also gave it the big thumbs down.
I am super glad you took a piccie of the Saldanha Steel factory, I wanted one.
Did you go down all the way to Tiettiesbaai? WOW that place is stunning stunning stunning. I reckon we must make a weekend of it and go and camp. Perfect perfect perfection.
Thanks Phil. I had a great ride that day, and it certainly is one for the books. Cheers
ps: the route: - from West Beach - > West Coast National Park - > Kraalbaai - > Outlook Point in WCNP - > Langebaan - > Vredenburg - > Paternoster - > TiettiesBaai -> and this is where the group split up.
We went on to check the flowers on at V something - > St Helena Bay - > Shelley Point (new development for rich) - > dirt road linking to Vredenburg from StHelena Bay (highly recommended) - > retrace route to West Beach.
pps: That little restaurant is a 107 year old ex Fishermans cottage on the beach. Tremendous setting and nice place. The food - wasnt great, took 1hr10minutes to get there, and was pitiful on the plate - R70 for a small piece of fish and some very mediocre chips. And some of us got the wrong fish to boot.
I spoke to the Manager who didnt seem duly concerned. Fleecing tourists to Paternoster is his way it seems, and I for one recommend going elsewhere. The places name is Voorshuis op die Strand (something like it). There is NO value for money at this place.
ppps: Group: Phil, Leon, Malcolm, Goose, Hilde and Myself.
