I take it (assume) that that is Leopold IIís palace and his Congo legacy. Impressive indeed, that is the structure I mean.

Congo paid for the museum. Maybe not the best legacy for Belgium. Just been renovated.

I spent quite a lot of time on the Congo some years ago. About two years in all. And I was stationed in many parts of the Congo. The practice of chopping off hands / arms still persists. But now between factions, the belief being that if you have no hands you cannot make your mark on a ballot. No generation alive has seen peace, civil war and tribal factions have killed countless millions. I found it a stunningly beautiful, yet incredibly sad country.
Young enough to know I can, old enough to know I shouldn't, stupid enough to do it anyway.

The museum was packed full. Congo still has a lasting impact on Belgian's.

The Germans hit the fort's underground magazine, taking 250 solders lives whom are still buried under the crater.
