Congrats, great bike, I will not even consider anything else.

Done many km's and tours on it.

The bike is RELIABLE and does what is expected from it.

Because it was mentioned here, I thought i would mention:
my delivery has been delayed as BMW are fitting new redesigned stachions to my bike.

Not sure how they are redesigned but I know they will be fitted tomorrow.

Wonder what is redesigned.

I will try and find out. Apparently they are not allowed to deliver the bike before they are fitted. (I asked if they could fit them at the 1000km service)

Here are some more pics just because I cant wait :)

Panniers and Nav VI will also be fitted.

Looking at the 3rd drawing it does not look like the remedial crimps are fitted yet.
They probably do it as the bikes get sold.

My opion. The stachion issue is totally overrated. I misused my previous bike totally. After 30k no issue, just replaced the shocks with the service. Then again I am perhaps not using the bike as some “ridding gods” on here does, but will not replace it due the the perception of a possible issue.

I saw one in 2014, which hit an obstacle at 120, stachion pulled out slightly, still running well.

Ok bike has been prep'd and is ready for me. Only picking it up tomorrow but these are the best pics I could get. Not sure if you can see any difference to the stachion. I can take better pictures tomorrow if you like.

Went pass my bike today at Auto Alpina. They only fitted the clamps on my stanctions. Bruce please tell me where you bought your bike as I would like to find out a bit more about this as I see that yours does not have the clamps on.

Attire I bought it from Northside. Call Anton.

He explained it to me more or less like this:
I got complete new forks from Germany. The crimping is all the way around whereas in the past it was just one spot. Also something is longer than the old ones. Sorry but I was excited and didn’t really take it all in. I know I don’t have the sleeves. All bike being sold will get the new forks before delivery.

Oh and the bike is amazing! Clutch is higher and lighter and bike is definitely more stable and seems much more refined. Only managed 37kms before the rain so will take a nice ride tomorrow. There is a breakfast run from Northside at 8am if anyone is interested.

Good luck. Phone Anton he has and everyone else tbh at Northside have been really great.

(I went to another dealer about two weeks ago near Clearwater. When I got the cold shoulder I walked out and went to Northside. Bought the bike from Northside instead because they were so much more friendly and interested)

So to answer my question. Yes it is absolutely worth the upgrade.

Picked the bike up on Saturday morning and as I left the dealership it started raining. Good chance to test the rainmode :) I went straight home as I still dont have rain gear! So only manged to put 27kms on the clock.
Yesterday I joined Northside for a breakfast run to Harties. Was great fun and the bike is amazing. Im still running it in but in just about every aspect it seems better. Gear changes are smoother, acceleration is smoother (although i only rev'ed up to 4k), bike actually feels lighter and is definitely more stable. I also noticed that i had no buffeting in my helmet which i had with the standard screen on the old bike. The Garmin VI is also brilliant and can be seen clearly in all conditions.
I managed to clock up 251kms yesterday so still have 749kms to go until its run in. Very very happy with the change although I still have to get used to the new indicator switch.

My old bike did leave me with the below present on its last ride (puncture on Beyers Naude).......revenge perhaps? :)

Thank you all for the advice.
