KTM 640 Adventure Front Brake
« on: December 04, 2017, 07:54:50 am »
Hi all

My front brake on my 2003 640 Adventure is failing, after standing for a while I first need to pump the brake to get some pressure and while riding it doesn't instill much confidence.

Mechanic recons it's the master cylinder in the hand lever assembly, a R2750 part from KTM as they only sell the whole assembly.

Any advice or suggestions?

From the spares manual I found the following:

Maybe try to tie the lever to the handgrip overnight.  Turn the handles to the left with the bike on the side stand.  It works pretty well, as long as your brake light doesn't work with the ignition off.

I've kept my 300 going (stopping) like that for a year.
