True Story:

2 guys on 1000cc bikes went on a long ride - to Namibia in fact.

By pure coincidence and with relevance to this thread, the one was an Africa Twin and the other a KTM. Both came back alive and well, with huge smiles and photos and videos and wrote about it here, a "RIDE REPORT" they called it  .. anyone here still remember this concept ..?

Then another guy went happily around the world on a C90 ...

1978. It's 6am, mid winter...two up on a XL 185S ... off to my first casino ever with all of R40 and we've got a full tank of fuel, so enough to get there we reckon.... that's determination...

Old bike: '82 Eddie Lawson Replica Replica.
Other bike: '05 Honda Varadero 1000
New bike: '16 Honda Africa Twin.

The real reasoning for the so-called "handbag fight" is to discredit any possible opinion that the AT is the better adv bike....
If we have to lable the evaluaters as being idiots, we do that! And to make double sure we insult the poster as much as possible too!

The only question that still concerns me: Is Werner/Renrew really the 32yr old well be-spoken spoilt brat from Sandton with an obsession with KTM - strangely never showing pictures or RR's, or is he the "joker" character established by ......., to spice up the forum a bit ....

***** Hijack - I just need to put this guy in his place for his comments about me, so please skip this if you donít want to read about my first handbag swing.

So let me enlighten you oupatjie:

You think I am spoilt? You have NO idea how much I spoil myself :lol8:

You think I donít actually ride? Because I donít post ride reports of me on gravel highways with a delivery bike? :imaposer:

You think I have an obsession with KTM? Youíre right ;) To be fair, Iíve had enough onsessions to know what Iím talking about.

You think me thinking you are a moron is because of your copy paste articles? Nope, itís because of what you say. In this and most cases you just post links and thatís why I addressed the ARTICLES claims and not YOUR claims.

I am sorry you are old, irrelevant and ride a delivery bike - But be careful who you take on toppie, no one cares about your hypothesis about me ;)

PS - No one knowís whatís going on with your whole forum conspiracy theory, you just come across as a stupid grumpy old man thatís paranoid, and no, I donít know any mods ???

Good luck with your purchase, youíll need it ;)

That 701 with the rally kit is nice, but what a lot of extra kak you going to have to pick up after a fall.

A screen is also a big hindrance riding technical routes, you need to see the front wheel.

Yes. And no, I did not see his apology, makes no difference, you canít go off the rails without consequence. Seems this is quite common practice for him.

Well then - thx for answering the question you did not understand in any case!  :thumleft:

I actually need to apologise to all the Mods for suspecting involvement with you!!!
They have obviously noticed long before I did that you are on a self-destructing course - so no need to interfere...

Honestly - Good luck!!

Renrew, folks will think that it's all the problems you're having with your Katy's that's making you so sour.

Come on, be lekker.
