For the past 3-4 years, camping out with my son, in Baviaans, with the bikes, has been on my the bucket list..but due to various obligations, commitments and agenda, this was always postponed.
Well this year we made it happen. The “Mrs” had to work over 27-29, thus giving the “boys” the gap to go biking.
We decided on the following route:
• Day 1 – PE to Doringkloof via Baviaans T1
• Day 2 – Doringkloof via Willowmore, Meiringspoort & Prins Albert, the Swartbergpass to Oudtshoorn
• Day 3 – Oudtshoorn to “Die Hel” & return, day trip
• Day 4 – Oudtshoorn to Home (PE), via Uniondale, Baviaans T2, Steytlerville, Baviaans T2, & Petensie
Realized that we had tooooo much camping & logistic baggage that needed to be carried so had to improvise with “carrier plates”. I must recommend the “barrel bags” made by “Nomadgear”, really strap on securely & easily and zero signs of any “wear&tear”.
