I enjoy up-cycling, taking what would otherwise be junk and turning it into something useful.

Some time ago the geyser in our house popped.  Insurance replaced it and I insisted that the old unit remain on the property.  In due course I opened it up, removed the copper cylinder and cut the one end off.  This is what it turned into.

I cut the other end off and made a lampshade above the patio table.

After the recent renovations I have some old bits of Meranti lying around, so, after a lot of begging, made a "Lazy Susan" for the patio table.

During my garage renovation, all the wood from the old rafters was left on the property.  I used this center beam ...

and made this rather sturdy coffee table for the TV room.

I also had these 2 old doors which I was reluctant to dispose off.

So decided to bash a hole in the courtyard wall...

And put in an "Ox Eye" gate.
