Hi all.

My xl700v has recently started with the following.(or it went unnoticed till now)

When the bike idles and I give the throttle a blip, it sound like it has a misfire, or as if it backfires through the air intake. It has this weird pop sound accompanied by a pffft sound. It doesn't happen often. maybe 4 times in the last 1000km. I know my explanation probably sounds terrible :)

In all other respects, the bike is fine, starts easily cold and hot, pulls strong, idling is fine and doesn't seem to surge.
The bike now has 24000km. I bought it on 13000km.
According to the service booklet the 12000km service was done, which should include valve clearances but we know how this goes.
It is time again for valve clearance check, but I do not know if this can lead to my issue.

Any suggestions?
