Meat and Beer allowed into Namibia
« on: February 12, 2018, 03:30:16 pm »
Hi Guys

I am heading for Namibia tomorrow. I want to take a cool bag full of meat and a case of beer along with me.

Am I going to get into trouble at Vioolsdrift with meat and beer?

Thanks

Where are you going in Nam??

Beer - Tafel is cheap there, and not bad - Windhoek obviously - I assume you are taking something more exotic?

We took meat, no issues, but you cannot bring it SOUTH through the Vet Fence Line (roughly the south end of Etosha)

25kg of red meat per person and 25kg raw chicken per person.
2l wine and 1l spirits or other alcohol per person, so if only beer, 3l of beer per person.

If you don't smaak their beer, take your own, but meat is best bought there, cheaper and nice stuff.

Namibia Breweries makes Tafel, the best beer in die world!

Going to Namibia and taking your own beer is like going to the Louvre and taking your own paintings.

Thanks for the info guys.

Yup budget is tight so I am raiding all the meat and beer in the house. And yes it is Tafel, my favourite brew.

Going with the bakkie, havn't been able to replaced my 990 yet, hopefully work is busy and I can find a new tourer end of the year.

Thanks again.
