Still practicing on that one Essbee, but its a heavy beast. On the GS one wheelies at a greater speed so the camera man/woman needs to be fit to run along to capture the pic.

That normally is the wife and she's tired of running next to to the  bike. I don't inderstand the problem altogether.

Hee hee....I have a solution : wifey sits on another bike, back to front, and that scoot rides in front.

My good friend The Badger does wicked stand-up wheelies with his GSA....

ps.....I also did a fender-bender on my XR500 many decades ago....only once....my arse was frikkin PURPLE!!!!!!!! ::)

Find an enthusiastic photographer. The let you wheelie far away from them and use the lens. Got a mate who is only too keen to do it when he has time....

Meerkatting is standing up, on your pegs.

Its apparently done mainly by BMW riders, any KTM rider that may do it is instantly branded a closet BMW fan.  :ricky:
Young enough to know I can, old enough to know I shouldn't, stupid enough to do it anyway.

Understood Mr Zog. Is this form of riding frowned upon? I just need to ensure that its then practiced on a private, isolated road only. It does however help to stretch the legs now and then on a long haul. Arn't all those orange bike riders closet BM fans anyway ?

Love the meerkat police... Check some of my posts on here and KTM pics. I only learned in the past year to stand. Little bit more difficult on lighter, smaller bikes.. But possible. I learned because I couldn't see where I was going, past the SE's fat tummy. When I got the Adventure, it was easier as well, to see where I was going. But closet..? I have a problem there. Had a BMW, got a Honda, a Suzuki, a GasGas, wheelied a Triumph, Kawasaki, Yamaha. So don't know which closet to choose. All I can say is that I stand to see better, not to look cool...

It is frowned upon, but mainly by the Katoom brigade. And a few others who try to gain points from the Katoom twats because they tend to ride slower bikes and need some form of affirmation of manhood.  :ricky:

Then of course there is the age-old debate about standing on the pegs and the centre of gravity. eish.... there have been countless threads in this regard, with theories, mathematical suppositions, banter, BS, "proof", and goodness knows what else. Some say that the jury is still out, others are convinced, but at the end of the ride I suppose it's what works for YOU, and how YOU ride and feel safe. Perhaps better not to open this can of worms again or the "old regulars" will pull up their chairs and start all over again...  :pot:
