Aluminum radiator leaking, can it be fixed?
« on: March 13, 2018, 04:30:10 pm »
My 950 radiator is leaking in the core, I am not able to see the specific spot.
Do one find a replacement radiator, or do I sent this one for repairs and where to?

Thank you for the inputs.

I took my Dakar's to Silverton Radiators. Fixed several pin holes and did a chemical flush. More than 20k km's it is still fine. Not to sure if Katu has a Silverton radiator branch,  try your local radiator shop first.

I will give them a call. I was struggling with the 950 to win the heating problems. Now the bike is running cool and its a leaking problem.
When this is sorted, there will be only riding.

Silverton Radiators also did work on my 690 which I was sure would not be repairable. I've done 8000km since then.

Have sent my wife's 650 radiator to a company called CHI. They specialize in alu radiators. When I got it back the owner said no charge and no gaurantee.
Yes it leaked again a 1000 kilos later.
It was part of the bad batch radiators BMW should have had a recall on. :deal:
