Beautiful, beautiful bike.

And there's the problem. To protect such beauty requires a set of beautiful crash bars that cost as much as a second bike, and need additional bars to protect them, 'cos it would be a shame to scratch them!

Maybe what's needed is an ugly matte or military finish on a plain, cheap fuel tank that won't look too bad carrying the odd ding or scrape.

If you look on the outside of the Tappet cover there is something that looks like it could accommodate Crash bars.(2 Holes) Obviously not to take the full Impact but a Point for a Brace.
I am not too worried, they will have that Problem covered for sure.

Crashbars, as they do, will also spoil this bike's looks.

Take the 990's for instance, very attractive bikes, add crashbars and it looks at best like a backyard attempt to build a 2 wheel pypkar.

I agree with you, I have rather owned and ridden alls GS models made, had XR500's, short while an African twin had a HP2 and now n SE.

With my training and tours I get the opportunity to "sample" many bikes and I had a fair few of road bikes even a 850 Le Mans and a Ducati 900 SS

Whats the best bike? None of the above! Some I loved and some I hated. Will I buy the V85, well I guess its a better all rounder than the SE and I loved my Le Mans.

Age is a Bastard, you don't have to feel it but I think you must realise that some Bikes are actually not intended for your Market, in my Case, the new Yamaha, the Ktm 790 etc are way beyond my Skills at my Age but the Guzzi is way cool and an old Farker can be forgiven rocking up on a MG 85 V ANYWHERE
