Right here we go...

I left Colesberg on a very cold and fairly windy Friday morning.  The route I plotted, would put me under a little pressure to  reach Gatsrivier before sunset; I would play it by ear as I progressed.  :ricky:
Our part of the world makes  beautiful photos when we have had rain with cloud cover.  :thumleft:

Rule of thumb; the more pain to the rider (read cold, wet) the prettier the pictures.

The route:

Our district is almost becoming one huge park because of all the wildlife.
The downside is that it is a breeding area for jackal and lynx and the roads are treacherous with all the boars running wild.  :bueller:

What a build this must have been.  :eek7:  They too must have had good rains.

Murraysburg was next .  I have often travelled these roads for hunting competitions and have often made a mental note to work them into a bike trip.  Today was that day. :ricky:

From Murraysburg south,  you could see they were not as fortunate as we were to have had rains on a couple of occasions.  It got drier and drier as I went along.  :patch: :patch:

Made Beaufort West and had the compulsory Pie and cool drink.  Buff goers everywhere  :patch: – wondered who would win the weekend’s competition of the “I will F[member=24163]CK[/member] you up stare & me tough f[member=24163]CK[/member]er” – they were all contenders.  :deal:

Merweville was next.  I would have loved to have done the Rantepad from Fraserburg, but after Caron told me the road south from Sutherland was closed, it would not have helped going up that far.  In any case, from Merweville I planned on doing the Koup road which I have not done yet.
