Natal WFO enduro Eshowe Rutleg (Rutledge)dam 21/4/2018
« on: April 09, 2018, 07:52:31 pm »
Next leg of the Natal enduro series is at Eshowe. We have had some great enduros in Zululand, especially the ones from Kataza set by Albrecht Albers which went straight down one forest firebreak and straight up the next. All the excuse you need to gas a bike! Around Eshowe it is challenging and as I remember quite thorny. If you are coming from a distance a night at the George Hotel which is close to the start may be entertaining. Zululand can be dusty and hot but it will make a change from pissing it down with rain. See you there.

Eshowe can be pretty wet and misty especially toward Ntumeni, Ian. But I hope you get what you wish for

Down in the valley toward Goedetrouw dam would be drier and dusty with thorn

Turns out I've got too much on my plate to get up to Eshowe this weekend and may just go for a little local ride. While I was turning my wedding VHS tape into digital I found I had a documentary movie made by Peteb called "1994 WFO year." I'll see if I can post it as a YouTube link.

This enduro was cancelled and postponed and I found out at a reunion of WFO members at PMB on Friday 4/5/18 that it was because of local unrest and the recent burning of farms. Dino Santoro told me they had talked to the locals for 18 hours but eventually gave up and postponed it.
