The black dog in the picture at the Ongongo campsite....he scrounged some leftover food from us after dinner, and took it upon himself to protect us, sleeping next to our tents and growling the whole night at the slightest sign of a threat!
During our trip we saw plenty dogs, and they were all terribly thin, some of them walking skeletons! I suppose if you have barely enough food for yourself then the dog gets next to nothing. Quite sad.

Great stuff  :thumleft:

XPat, some of your photo's are so good you should consider listing them on shutterstock. Might make some spare cash to pay for the next trip

Also, I am leaving for another trip this week, so will start now, but finish only when Iím back sometimes in May, sorry about that.

Jesus. You weren't joking about biking non-stop, were you?

Xpat I must commend you on making the time to take all those lovely pics, when it's hot and you are tired it is very easy to just keep on riding and forget about the pictures, but on this trip I followed your lead and also took quite a few pics and stopped regularly to do so. You took several thousand photo's and I managed about 600.
Also the camera and it's accessibility is a big factor, the camera needs to take high quality pictures and be handy when you need it. If it is hidden somewhere in your luggage you are not going to stop and take it out enough, jacket pocket is first prize here.

I have been on sabbatical for a while now focusing on what I like most - doing bugger-all intersped with riding.

This sounds awesome!!!!!

Now i understand why he will not stand.............ergonomics are all wrong and transition between sitting and standing are HUGE.

Must feel like doing a full squat every time he attempts standing  :lol8:

Armpump to be totally honest, when Justin stand and I sit we are on the same level! When I stand it feels like I am on stilts and have to perch over to reach the handlebars, most uncomfortable. AND my knees are not new anymore. I have learnt to ride sitting, much easier even if I have to give up some control. I can pick a line and stay with it much more accurately than if I was standing. On the odd occasion I might lift my arse an inch or two off the seat to see some undulation through.
Hijack off.
