Sold my GS because of this so I’m not biased...

I think ‘fixed’ here means ‘not loose’, not repaired.

Might it be the same recall as before and not a new one?

I suspect you are correct. Looking at the original notice (liked to in OP) the launch date of the campaign is July last year, and the symptoms described are exactly those of the previous recall.

"The fixed fork tube can suffer preliminary damage due to unusual incidents with momentary high stress without the user noticing the damage."

Maybe just me, but that sound like the thing can kak AFTER the fix applied.  Dunno, why send out notices to people now (heard of several okes in Europe that got this letter in the last few days)

But yeah, you are right about the date.

Whatever, keep riding the thing like a 2stroke.  Haven't had a problem ever.

Possibly just you, but fixed in this context means it is cannot move.  Dis vas.  A fork stanchion consist of two parts.  The fixed part, which in this case is the top tube and the moving part, the bottom tube.   If they were referring to the previous "fix", the sentence would have been:

""The repaired fork tube can suffer preliminary damage due to unusual incidents with momentary high stress without the user noticing the damage."

I have been following this and it seems someone is just having a bit of fun.  Will be interesting how this pans out, but the document you referred shows the reference as 2017.  Biggest give away is usually Google.  I Googled.  Not a single word about a new recall.

Jy salnie eintlik nie behalwe as:

-  Jy die geweën en kners van tande hier sien.
-  Die vorige eienaar jou laat weet.
-  Jy jou fiets by BMW laat diens.
-  Jy maar by BMW omry en vra dat hulle gou kyk.

Yep.  Fake, or also possible, Wales may be behind the rest of the world in terms of the recall.  It is Wales after all.  The letter does look a tad suspicious in terms of colour at the top where the date is.
