Awesome, well done.  What area and doing what?

I am in commercial Property Management, currently head of the department that manages all africa countries (except SA).

Now I am taking 2 steps down to physical being a property manager again (havent done it since 5 years ago) so going to deal with tenants again, and clients and and and, but worth it to get to NZ, and something I have always known. Will work my way back up.

Excellent.

As i understand it now you will have sufficient points thus cannot be rejected and will be selected...giant step forward, congrats

Indeed and being in wellington (have i mentioned that??) we get even more points.

We will however still go the work visa route as I need to start in 2 months and residency can take up to 6 months. So we will apply for it once we land.

One of the things in the western wolrd is that very little status is afforded to what you do or what your position is, no one really cares to be honest.

Emigrating from ZA is for your kids future, who cares if you have to clean toilets to do that. I washed pots an pans for a while just to keep busy when my contracting hours became less. Matters not what you do.

Edit: I was in Wellington for a bit, nice place. Stayed in Upper Hutt just outside, good railway and easy to gett o the south island for some touristy stuff.....

just be prepared, lots of rain and wind in wellington...its ffairly ar south, and new zealand is a typical island....

Guys, on marriage certificates  :lamer: :lamer: >:( >:( Get your BI-30 marriage record from your church who married you.

DAH is useless in tracing these documents. 4 months later and they still cant print it cause they have no proof....FFS. Luckily and again I am praising the managers of bronkies home affairs, she showed me what they will need to verify. Its called a BI-30 form and is the form you, your spouse the pastor and a witness sign on the day.

With this they can then verify and print an unabridged certificate. Mailed the church  and 30mins later they send me the BI-30. So its with home affairs now and lets hope.

We have also decided to approach an agent to assist with the work visa as time is not on our side.

The Dam stress, emotional rollercoaster, feelings...ffs.... starting doubting this morning whats up as I have only received the employment letter...No contract  :-\

On my way to work, while filtering through the traffic my mind was already wondering and thinking, shit what am I to do if this doesnt work out?
Go stay with my mom on the farm? become a farmer?
Ask my employer if I can withdraw my resignation?
Still sell everything, apply for a 6month visitor visa and go anway?

Then as I stop at the office I see the mail with the full contract, signed by the MD and waiting for me  :3some: :ricky:

Reviewed now, signed and send. Also send it to the agent and now its another waiting game....

My friends told me the Kiwis are worse then africa time but dam, this waiting is going to give me a heart attack....

On other news, did my medicals yesterday, and the doc is very happy....unless my blood work or chest xrays shows anything weird he said I am good to go.

Just a tip

I assume you will book tickets for emirates cos of the 2 X 23 kg plus 7 kg luggage benefit and your end destination will be Wellies. Different flights have different routes. different duration, either via Auckland or via AUS straight to Wellies.

If you take emirates and via Auckland look at the layover time in Auckland. I thought that the suitcases and customs would be in Wellies and took the shortest layover. Nope wrong. Customs will be in Auckland and there is a longish walk from international to domesticated terminal and it pissed down. I had to handle on my own, 4 x 23kg, 2 x 7kg, one big camera bag and a tired kid (cos of the lekker inflight entertainment slept next to nothing) and nearly missed the connection. :thumleft:

Thanks Ama....YIp we will check but so far we decided on Qantas...straight from sydney to Wellies. but didnt know the extra luggage space about emirates

We might send a few boxes via 7sevens that will cost about 3k with personal belongings in any case
