Just on the flights, pay the extra R500 or so (cost with qantas) to get the flexi/refund option for in case you have issues with your visa or your plans changes. 6months is a long time
UPDATE! - Passport verification done this morning, then off to bank to finalise home loan notice....now we wait some more
Yup, and premium economy isn't really worth it.
I'd rather put that money towards the flexi option.
We flew with Cathay, JHB-Hong Kong-Auckland, and our regular economy seats were just fine. Premium only seemed to offer a smidge more leg room, and you got nicer headphones. But the arm rests can't be folded up, so if you want to use your partner as a pillow, it gets very uncomfortable.
