Today marks 2 weeks before the family leaves SA!  :ricky: 15 more days before I see them! it will be 135 days!! since I last saw them, and man you can count to 135 easily but when it's in days it's completely different.

Other then that I am keeping myself busy with home automation stuff. Did some more soldering and coding over the last week or so and happy with the progress. Now the wife just needs to start working so I can buy some more toys  :peepwall:

Unfortunately, the weather has not been great for sanding or painting as it was 12'C today and raining. Prediction is for warming weather over the weekend, and I hope its warm enough with no wind for a good painting session.
I also need to tackle the gardens as I sprayed the weed killer 2weeks ago. Its all dead but weather hasn't permitted garden work   :sip:

Schools are also back in full swing so most Saturdays I enjoy a good old game of school cricket:

Automation process

I have started coding the front end as well and once my dam digitizer arrives from China for my broken tablet, this will be the user interface for controlling stuff

What a week and weekend. Friend of mine did the move and transferred from dimension data in SA to dimension data in NZ. He is staying with me until he can find a place. But he likes kuiering, especially now since his wife and child is also still in SA. Fetched him from the airport at 5pm as he landed from Auckland (He flew SA->dubai->auckland->wellington) - 3 days of straight traveling, with a day sta over in Dubai to visit some other friends.

from there we headed out to get beer, some food, some charcoil (wood is kak expensive here) and some more beer. The weekend was a combination of braai'ing, drinking and going to test drive cars and see houses for him.

I am also back on 2 wheels!!  :ricky: :ricky: It has some good lines and some good good curves, a full 600W of power and even came with a bell  :imaposer:

I got a little (well big) ebike to start being a bit more health and will commute with it as well. the cost, as its over 24months interest-free, is half of what my monthly bus ticket will cost.  I can ride into work quite easily (about 10km one way) as its mostly down hill. Back home is a bit more difficult and the major hill I will tackle only once I am a bit more fi. For now, I catch the bus at the bottom of the hill to the top and ride back home.  :peepwall:

and its 9 days....9 days!!! before the family fly!

I'm guessing the family lands any day now?  :ricky:

Today (well Wednesday night now in SA) Is their last night in SA! They fly tomorrow, thursday and will be landing just after midnight Friday, NZ time  :ricky: :ricky: :ricky:

Been hecticly busy this week sorting last minute items out for their arrival, making sure there is enough food in the house, more pillows, blankets (as its getting quite chilly now at night) and cleaning the house.

Its been raining and misty the since about last week Wednesday so the balance bike hasn't been sprayed yet, so this will only get done later, unfortunately.

Also been a hectic work at week as we finalizing budgets and long term maintenance plans for all the properties!
