What do you want to use it for? I'm referring to most of the time?

Work and back 50km city riding and offroad use
Suzuki DR 650 SE.
1996 and newer.
Stay away from 1998 and 1999, unless it has starter clutch retrofitted.
You can make a small screen yourself. Velcro attached.
I have a 990R KTM and a 500 XCW currently, with a Husky 610 TE.
You'll be crying with repair bills and reliability issues on the 640, regardless of what has been done to this specific bike. The owner has most probably had enough of throughing money at it!
If your off-road is good gravel, a KLR is better for the commute.
It is much heavier than the DR, too much plastic, and for single track a no-go.
DRs crash cheaply. No need for insurance, other than 3rd party, fire and theft. I didn't bother!
The DRs are scarce, but patience will pay off!
I've had for 4 DRs over the past 8 years. Awesome bikes!
Sold the last DR to 0012 recently, for quite a bit more than 30ish.
