I thought I would offer my experience in improving wet performance for off road or 50/50 style tyres. Rubber as a optimum "operating temp" where it offers the best grip, too hot and you will get excessive wear or ultimately failure. If you run your tyres too cold it will ultimately badly effect the overall grip of your tyres. The problem you have with off-road bias tyres is with the deep tread designs it just cannot retain heat in wet and cold weather as it is basically water cooled while you riding. To help maintain the operating temps you can drop your pressure, how much will be dependant on how cold and wet it is. In driving rain in winter I run off road pressures and light rain or in summer I drop 0.4 bar.
let me know if anyone else has any experience with this as well?
