As JFE sets off, I light a cigarette and stroll around thinking about a plan to be made.

I eventually take a walk to higher ground and eventually find signal.

Fortunately I get hold of my cousin and explain the situation.  Heís a biker as well and this Ďrecoveryí is right up his ally.  It takes no convincing and he assure me heíll be there in no time.

Next up is the wife to tell her that Iíll be a little late.  I can hear her eyes roll over the phone.

Not being able to sit still I take a look at the bike again.

I suddenly realize that itís only flat at the bottom, the top still seems fine!  And so I set off, sitting right at the back of the bike, trying to keep the top side of the tyre at the bottom.

I make good ground and first have to stop to appreciate the scenery.

I get to a farm house on the left and decide to see if someoneís there.  To my disappointment, thereís no one home.

I carry on for a while and stop again for a bite to eat.  Fortunately I had enough water and packed some snacks for the day.

Thereís a beautifully grassed camp where I stop and I make a note to go find the owner and ask him if he would allow me to camp there one night.

Itís getting dark quickly now and decide to push on a bit further.

Iím a firm believer that things happen for a reason.  If anything, the reason I got another flat tyre was simply to see the beauty of our God given country at sunset.

Exactly 15km since I set off where we split up, the tyre decides that enough is enough and the bead climbs off.

Itís now properly dark and I hear a car approaching me.  Realizing that itís now pointless doing a repair since my cousin must be well on his way, I confirm that Iím ok and the kind gentleman sets off again.  Apart from the guy in the Isuzu, this was the only vehicle that passed me until my cousin arrived at about 19h00.

@JFE , Hannes, it was truly an awesome dayís riding with you.  Iím looking forward to when youíre back so we can do this again.

I promise to have a complete toolbox with me next time.

All in one ride this was, yeah, the tubeless on the AT is itís weak point AFAIAK. To that end I will fit a set of Alpine rims in a month.

Southern Cape ... lekker plek!

Worked on a proper route map last night but only managed to screw it up, GPS didn't track it, will give it another shot, unless you have it Kobus and want to post it please.
