They have floating discs in order to disperse the heat under braking. And yes they do come loose on the rivets and rattle. And eventually the inner section made out of alloy gets eaten away. A new set from Honda R1 380.
However the rivets can be reset by somebody who works on rims and tightened up to stop the progress.
One can then import a set of floating Galfers from the US for about R4 000 or get a set of solid discs.
Happens to all upmarket bikes with floating discs.
KTM, BMW, Ducatis etc all face the same problems.

A short term fix is to pump silicon around the rivets. How long it lasts I do not know.
