Guy's, check your wheel bearings regularly.
I had to cut my ride in Lesotho short yesterday because my rear wheel bearing started making clapping sounds.
We do lots of water crossings and serious technical riding in rocks and I guess that was the reason for premature failure, the bike has 20 000 km on the clock.
