Copius
Pack Dog
Good day Chaps.
Still struggling with my DR.
Its a unmodified or molested 650, had it since 3000km and currently just under 70 000km.
She is used daily to commute close to 100km.
About a month ago, she struggles to start in the morning.
When she does start the idle is rough until semi warm.(3-5 min idling)
When I drive out my gate and get off (to close it) she dies, as if the idle is too low.
Then its a mission (swinging for 20-30 turns) start again and then I have to adjust the idle up to be able to commute.
Once at work I have to adjust the Idle lower again.
If I were to get on the bike after a hour again I have to start with full choke and still she refuses to idle as if it is the first start in the morning.
With a heavy smell of fuel (suspected over fuelling)
I m considering adding the stainless steel washer to the needle to in the Carb to diagnose the " stalling under heavy deceleration" (This is a old issue though)
Only addition is an inline filter on the fuel line that I replace with every service but this has been part of the setup for years.
I've played with the air mix screw ( 2 & 1/8th out) with no luck.
Is it time for a deeper check/ service?
Carb clean needed?
Original inline filter could be blocked?
Any guidance or help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
C.
