Not saying this is the case, but people see bikers removing mirrors way too often. Perhaps the taxi driver thought it was on purpose.
I reckon fighting with the guy after hitting his car was the wrong thing to do. I clipped a taxy driver not to long ago, I actually hit his hand with my hand guard  :ricky:. I stopped, apologised and we moved on.
I'm am NOT ok with him pulling a weapon on the biker though.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Very, very, very bad.
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to rank amongst those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.

i recon the taxi driver is right.
the guy in the pictures is definitely white,  and as this happened in Krugersdorp he is also pretty much guaranteed to be afrikaans.
this guy's version is exactly that.
unacceptable behaviour,  but i'd like to hear the taxi driver's version...

No matter the story, nothing justifies the attack and retaliation in self defense would have been fully justified.

i agree with you completely.
reality is,  the taxi driver didn't wake up this morning and decide to attack a biker with his panga.
something led to this.
i wonder if in the exchanging of curses (which he admits too) the K word was not thrown in too.
doesn't make a panga attack acceptable,  but you have to concede that in life,  when you look for shit,  you generally find it...

Many of these things come down to how we as a society interact considering how culturally diverse we are in SA. People are impatient and intolerant.

The Afr term "Verdraagsaamheid" is the best descriptor of what we're lacking.

Anywhere else in the world it would be two okes getting hot and bothered in traffic, one oke losing it more than the other and that would be that.  Because it is South Africa, it is a racial issue.  Sad really.

Unfortunately very true and what really bothers me is that we are going towards more racism and not less.
We all suffer under it, irrespective of where we fit in.

let me add my 2cents

back in the day, the old oom boertjie would have jumped out of his bakkie with the kierie, shouting "jou dom K@.fer, ek sal jou dood moer" after "Sipho" knocked the mirror of his old KB250 with his dik wiel bicycle with the long mudguards.
kierie is a weapon, and surely the intention is not to really kill him, but teach a lesson. he would knock poor siphos bicycle, and maybe a hit in siphos bag. but no harm to sipho himself. was it right, NO. did sipho mean to knock the bakkie, NO.

if the taxi driver wanted to kill him, he would have aimed for the neck. or the chest. or even stabbed him.

roles have turned in RSA unfortunately.

I really wish that here in South Africa we can live and let live peacefully. I think all the racial tension is because our government just cannot keep race out of everything. I think raccism os worse at the moment than 5 years ago. The general idea in our country is that a white person does not belong here and does not matter.

Two sides to the story.....always - BUT, nobody can ever condone such barbaric behaviour.
Problem is, there is so much anger in a lot of people, whose fuses are tripped at a slight provocation, which leads to incidents as these.
A few years ago a biker from close to that area was shot in the back and killed by a motorist after an argument about road use - the court case against the shooter is not close to being wrapped up and the deceased left behind a young wife with two kids.
Aggression on the roads don't work for anybody, thats for sure.

Nice looking helmet, is Spirit any good (except for blocking panga blows)?
