2018 701 Enduro model decompression system bulletin/recall
« on: July 03, 2018, 02:50:21 pm »
Hi All

Just a heads up to all 2018 701 enduro owners. There is a service bulletin where some parts of the decompression system need to be replaced. Contact your dealer so they can check if your bike is affected. The self service checker on the ktm website did not show my bike was affected, but according to the Husky dealer website it is.

I am not sure what effect this replacement has though.

Cheers w@anted.
The effect of this replacement will be that you'll not burn your startermotor neither will short your battery to death, however there could be another benefit as well, "no more rattling on warm startup" - like mine does!

Have asked my dealer, luckily they're friendly & helpful enough - shall relay info here when I get it.

That sounds great! Are there any major risks except the starting issue and cam chain noise on startup?

Also, which dealership are you using?

I bought mine at CIT in Pretoria, they offered a good price.
Helpful staff, and the workshop makes a good impression too.

So my bike went in for the decompression bulletin yesterday at Bikers Warehouse. Great service, was done in about 2 hours time. Cannot see/feel/hear any difference though.

Also sorted the slight oil sweat on the head gasket.  :thumleft:
