This bike is up in Ladybrand OFS. I have done 8,700km on my PR7 and the only hassle was that some dirt got past the standard fuel filter. I changed this to a Mahle filter and it has gone like a dream since then. It looks like AJP have changed the fuel filters to Mahle on all the new PR7's. It is a simple bike with no fancy electronics so should run forever. The motor parts are SWM now, used to be Husqvarna 630, so there are lots of parts available as it has been around for a long time.

Fuel injected bikes can get after market quick shifters but only up-shift and not down-shift.

Links not of much help re the engine. My understanding was that it was originally a Yammy 650 but could not pass Euro 5 emissions so they went with the Husky 630 powerplant. For all intent and purposes it looks the same to me. Whether it is now made under license for AJP I guess is the question. Anyone wanting to buy a bike like this will want definitive info on the engine and spares.

AJP, Husky 630, SWM Superdual etc all use basicly the same motor as far as I know. XT660 motor was in the prototype but yes could not meet Euro 4 or such, why the Tenere also dropped away in Europe around 2015

Are these readily available in SA now?
Is it just one guy bringing them in and if he decides to stop then can't get anymore etc?

Forgive me if it's been said previously, I've been following this bike but may have missed that info.
I see 1st post was in 2018 so how are things going for this bike in SA.

I'm only going to look at getting another bike end of next year but this has been a strong contender vs the husky 701 and such.
