In Cape Town now - 4 separate DOWN Africa riders...

Werner - very interesting SWISS chap, Werner Willimann, https://www.facebook.com/werner.willimann?fref=ufi did South America (and parts of North America - TWICE!) mostly on a GSA 1200, until he broke the swing-arm, and has been travelling ever since on his trusty DRZ 400, most recently on a 24,000km trip down WEST Africa - that is interesting because we get a LOT of African travelers who do the East Coast, but maybe only 1-in-10 the the WEST...


His highlight? Riding 350km - no typo - 350km down a beach in Brazil, which is where he broke the swing-arm on the 1200!


He went up Table Mountain on Friday to catch up with the Japanese rider, Yukihiro  Kanemoto https://www.facebook.com/yukihiro.kanemoto.39?hc_location=ufi who was always ahead of him, both coming down WEST Africa a few weeks apart, Yukihiro on a 250 Yamaha...

11 months, 50,000km from Japan...


and then....


and then this Swiss Rider and the Japanese rider bumped into - on Table Mountain! - the Dutch guys, who had just finished doing WEST Africa!
