BlingKing - how do you think the new 1250's have overcome this problem with their auto adjustment and self leveling thingy-ma-jig?

That's why most GS riders are always standing.  Getting weight out of the saddle to get the ESA to work. :eek7:

I am waiting to see when I get failures in to answer that one properly.

I sometimes stood on the pegs while riding and changed the settings but not often

May as well stay seated, that's zero difference then!  ;)

The R1200GS Exclusive and Rallye already had the auto ESA from 2018 so I cannot see a method to adjust the suspension, only 2 settings available dynamic or road
