A few km before Tshaneni, Lee did one too many wheelie and ripped his valve on the rear tube running low pressures. Sun was setting and we were less than two kms away from our digs for the night....
New tube fitted and as we pulled away, already tasting the first Sibebe, Lee indicated that his front was also flat. Saay indicated to Lee to sit over the rear wheel and nurse it to Tshaneni Country Club where the puncture could be sorted in the morning.
My folks lived down the road at Mhlume for 20 odd years. I played a few rounds of golf at Tshaneni in the 70's with my dad.
Tshaneni used to be a rice farming and cattle estate in the 60's and early 70's owned by Commonwealth Development Comp/Co-op before they converted to cane. I believe that's where the name Tshaneni (Grasslands) originated. Good duck shooting in those paddies.
Looks like you guys did quite a cross section from the lowveld to higher elevation.
