That kid has got a brilliant future ahead of him. Anyone else have the feeling he's heading to the Dakar sooner rather than later?

I don't see that happening too soon, he's more hard enduro than outright speed. Maybe later in his career though  :thumleft:
Present bikes: BETA 300RR, KTM 690, Yamaha WR250F

Wade grew up racing National off-roads and was almost always on the podium if not winning outright. Look at Roof-of-Africa, when it is dry with fast days racing, he is unstoppable. I reckon he will do well at Dakar.

Don't get me wrong, I know he's damn fast, I meant it more from his and his sponsors focus point for the short term. He's improvement in hard Enduro has been incredible.

If you have the reflexes of a cat on cocaine, you can look at your front fender too.  :pot:

Judging by the look on his face, he's seeing something wrong around the front axle.

Or he's thinking, "That fender should be orange." 🤣🤣🤣

Gonna be a tough day at the office for him. He leads out the field with a 4 minute gap on Manni, who starts 6 minutes behind him. Not going to be easy to hold the gap or build on it. Having said that I watched him lead out the field on the last day of the Roof in 2014 (?) at the age of 16, and wondered to myself if he could maintain it, and he built a bigger lead by the end of the day to take his first win, so he has a head on his shoulders. Go lad!
Some interesting helmet cam footage from day 1

Pity about Travis running out of gas on Day 1, I thought he would be mixing it up with the guys this year. Still has a chance to break into the top 10 - please as long as it isn't at the expense of Blake, who is really coming of age. Saffas are showing how its done this year!
And following in their footsteps 16 year old Matthew Green, in the top 10 of Silver! Hang in there!

Except that heading out of CP7 there is now less than 1 minute in overall time between him and Manni. KTM's working together over the last few bad sections? Go boytjie!!!! Keep it to the end.
How's that poor chap in the beginning of that video where is bike tumbles down. The look of calmness he has about him, obviously not the first time its happened in the last few days...poor bugger
Edit: And now at CP8 only 7 seconds ahead....Head up lad

Well done Wade  -  LEGEND
Exceptional, first SAFFA, youngest winner, and probably one of the closest finishes ever. Very cool to see Senior Letti helping Wade up one of the last sections. Also have to feel for Manni, these guys weren't slapping each other from a distance, they went toe to toe over 4 brutal days, either of them would be a worthy winner and sad that one has to come out second.
Waiting for Blake now, what a ride! Pity Travis AGAIN ran out of fuel yesterday, but still in it, in 11th right now.
And Matthew should be home anytime now too. What a ride first time out at 16 years old
