To make a long story short, I've been battling to solve a mystery indicator problem on the 2007 KLR. All the other electrics work, including the horn and headlight dim/bright switches on the same assembly. The globes are all OK, and the earth connections seems good.
I unplugged the harness and bridged the contacts at the 9-pin connector. Now only the right-hand side indicators work, but not the left-hand side. I tested the circuit with a globe wire and it seems that a green wire is dead.
It would seem there's a problem with the indictor switch apart from the dead wire issue.
Question is, what now? Does one replace one wire in the loom?
Or am I perhaps missing a trick?
