Does anyone perhaps know if Paterson or Cookhouse have a Royal Hotel? I'm going to a farm just past Cookhouse tomorow!

I used to be a booze rep and don't recall those two towns having hotels called the Royal. Paterson was called the Paterson Hotel and Cookhouse didn't have a functioning hotel.  Nearest hotel to Cookhouse was the Golden Valley Hotel then the one at Middleton.

I think there was a Royal Hotel in Somerset East tho. Go find out for us.

I see the rates are from R0 - R200. Anyone care to report back on what one gets for R0-00?

Hey EV, since you started this and own the 1st post, how about editing said post with a (growing) list of links to RH's in the country.

Start with these:

From what I can gather, there is a Royal Hotel in Ladismith Klein Karroo and one in Ladysmith in KZN http://www.royalhotel.co.za/

Another one in East London.

I know there are two seriiiaaasss dives in Cape Town alone that are Royal Hotels  ;) ;)

I cannot tell you how many years I have been to that Hotel with my grandad visiting them on their farm about 20km's outside Maclear......brings back such good memories thanks JM! It's been a while since I have been there but it has not changed much.

Ladies and Gents

You will all be roaming around the country freely over the next 6 weeks or so - I'm hoping that all of you will remember to take those Royal Hotel pics.

When I mentioned that we were going to make a coffee book for a good cause, it was meant turthfully, but unless I have at least 100 pics or so, I can't get it done..?

Help, mense, help !!!!!!!!!!!!
