While looking for this flower we nearly bumped into a few churches
The churches definitely have a seating capacity greater than the congregation the town can supply
All built around 1900 -1914
Some truly awesome engineering and building skills in those days

Your mind can play some strange tricks on you in the desert
I am sure i saw a bloke with a bigger bike collection than mine
But it is a desert (I Think)

We only got to see one of three sheds

There is even a Bloke that collects rusted old cars
The desert definitely affects you in a strange way

What a well put statement.

Some of the churches in these small towns amaze me.

Looks like you had quite the time looking for flowers!
Going to try that line with my wife "bokkie ek gaan gou vir jou blomme gaan soek".......3 days later........

About that bike collection, I've seen/heard/read about it before and as amazing as it looks I just can't help feeling like it's a massive injustice to those bikes to stand like that and wither away rather than being ridden and enjoyed like they were intended to be used.

Yip
the desert is defiantly a strange place.
there is no glass or builders-ware house out in the desert
So instead of using windowpanes they use wood

The other theory is the houses are all boarded up because the farmers have taken the sheep and families to summer pastures or
Just moved out due to lack of water and the drought

Does any one know what that white dome structure is used for ?

http://blog.sa-venues.com/provinces/northern-cape/corbelled-houses/

A building style that is getting extinct. Hardly any builders left who can do it. Not easy to build them too.
