USB power for action cam
« on: September 06, 2018, 11:02:46 pm »
I lost the battery cover and battery for this china cam on the bike during my last ride, I normally had it plugged in the usb port to supply power  on longer rides,
Now that there is no battery and cover is there a way to get it to power on again when using the external usb plug, when I plug the usb in it does not come on

Why not just get a battery and fix it in place.

Don't do that.

You can see that on the cover it says

3.7v li-ion

So it runs from a 4.2v li-ion battery.

You should be able to fit a li-ion battery. Look for small cellphone battery that will fit and then solder in the correct points.

USB is 5v which might damage the circuit

with the fongkong batteries I am not sure how long it will last and if I will be able to source one again.

with the battery in place, you can still run it off USB, so you dont rely on the battery power.
