New chassis, new electronics and new heavily revised motor. Much like the 2012-2013 update I think it'll make it feel like a properly new bike.
I understand why they've given it a lower seat height but that's a negative point for me. I always enjoyed the leg room on the 690.

Aaah I didn't check my facts. The launch blurb says "a new chassis that lowers seat height to just 910mm while keeping the same suspension travel" but you're right, that's the same as the current model :dontknow:

Right that is weird. I personally wouldn't mind a lower seat  :P

It's not, how do you justify R60K extra for a few extra horses and a smoother vibe through the bars? You'll need to buy this with passion rather than logic.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the new look? To me it looks like an old 690 (rear) and new 500 (front) love child. If I was going to replace I'd rather go for the 701 (or new 790), it looks more unique rather than a slap together... although the 790 also smacks of a 1090 love child.

I love the look. And the extra horses and fuel. And quickshifter because why TF not

And the riding modes switch gear

I like the black headlight surround and front mudguard of the SM more than the orange of the enduro.

But I reckon my 2016 will last a good couple of years...
Africa Twin CRF1000 and KTM 690 - Aaaah yeah, perfect combo....
