Today bright and early , Giraffe,Wayneh and myself set out to reccie the alternative route , as its know.The route starts in Richwood and ends on the top of Pieketberg Mountain.
We met at 7am and hit the gravel.
I led the way as I wanted to do a different road to start with.
And that was my first mistake,I came around a corner at a fair speed , as usual and lone behold , a huge , deep puddle.Too late to avoid,kept it pinned , hit the water , and turned my XT into a submarine.
The water took my left foot off the peg and I came out the puddle and made for the side of the road and another 30 metres of water in the gutter.
Not being able to see anything but water ,I closed the throttle and slowed down , only to hit the bank to the left.

We hit the old Malmsbury road up to Abbotsdale and made a left onto the dirt and onto the First section of Spoornet Service road.
Its completely overgrown and has plenty of water and mud.But very lekker.
After all the usual puddles and more , we got to the first of many water crossings.Me first , then wayneh and then Giraffe , who did it twice for pics.
