Siende dat ek nie naby jou beplande roete is nie, het ek geen raad vir jou nie behalwe geniet dit, ry veilig en pantser jou agterstewe op n manier.

Day 7: Roadworks between Port Alfred and East London and then between Ndabakazi and Mthatha. Quite a few Stop&Goes to slow your trip. Not ideal to ride in the dark in the Old Transkei.

No ways you will make the day 2 route in one day , Sabie to hoedspruit via Klaserie will take you half a day , klaserie route is in trust  area , so  average maybe 80 . did lydenburg to Tzaneen and that took 3 hrs , lots of trust area up that part of the country , cant go that fast .
850.00 ks per day is doable . enjoy

did a similar ride in december 2007,  just the other way round.
iirc about 6500km.
easily the best solo trip i have ever done.
enjoy,  take lots of photos,  and we await the RR.

Thanks guys, I am really looking forward to this trip. I know day 2 will be a challenge, the idea is to leave at 05:00 in the morning, which will give us about 14 hours of daylight, which I think should be enough. Allowing 2 hours for stops etc, it will give us 12 hours of riding time, which will require an average speed of about 90 km's/hr.

We will do the same for the portion through the Transkei, as well as the last day of the trip through the northern parts of KZN

Handige verwysing vir jou trip Jan:  http://www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=136676.140

Laat weet wanneer jy hier verby kom, sal graag saam met jou ry tot in Knysna.  n Air Hawk mag dalk n goeie belegging wees vir jou trip.
