Riding into George was strange as the sun was blanked out by the smoke and ash was falling from the sky like snow .....

We filled up, and luckily Montagu pass was still open when go got to the turnoff ......

Halfway up the pass we saw the fires first hand .....

The Old Tol house burned to the ground @ the Geroge side of the Montagu pass - very very sad!

This is indeed very sad news

Darem net een keer gevoel daar is 'n boerebrekfis oppad though...

:)

Great ride (en rapport) MJ.

After filling myself at Jupiters, I hit the road towards Merweville .....

Again there were the gates, but made it to Merweville where I filled up just in case ....

Then it was down to the N1, left a few kms towards Leeu Gamka and eventually I made it ti the 1150 bash venue at Abrhamskraal

I got a cold one and we chatted while the sun set as magnificently as it always does on the Karoo

Bly jy kon ons join op Abrahamskraal!! Sien jou hopelik gou weer erens op 'n grondpad!

And so after being cooled down in Calitzdorp, we stuck to the R62 through the Huisriver pass, Ladismith and on to Warmwaterberg where we splashed into the (cold) swimming pool.

Also somewhere along this warm day my steed hit another landmark !!!!
