Exhaust header pipe GUARDS
« on: November 02, 2018, 09:40:35 am »
Has anybody fitted the stainless steel type exhaust header protection strips with the clamps? Are they any good? Do they protect the "headers" from stones? Is this worth spending money on?
Or, a waste of time?
Saw a bike with a little smiley on the right side exhaust header, asked what happened and was told, the front tyre picked up a stone on the road and that's what caused the dent. So, what about off-road?
Any other suggestions? Larger Bash Plate? Where to get and how much?
Some say I lack ambition,
I say I value my freedom.

Yes.  But I did it because I thought it looks cool and it was a relatively cheap addition.  I got it from Touratech whilst living in Europe so it was about 50% of the local price (euro value converted to Rand).

Apart from protection against potential road hazards, I found that there is less colouration on the headers.  There is certainly no obvious disadvantage.  Wunderlich makes a similar product.
I started biking as an under achiever and it went downhill from there...
